Scarface is a 15-foot saltwater crocodile that rules a stretch of the Daintree River in Queensland, Australia. His exploits are often captured by David White, who owns Solar Whisper, a wildlife tour company that operates along the river. In the latest footage, Scarface, who White estimates to be around 70 years old, can be seen dragging a large cow carcass along the river. In a Facebook post, White says the cow had died giving birth further upstream....

The Geminids are a shower of debris caused by a huge space rock called 3200 Phaethon. This debris is released as 3200 Phaeton orbits the sun. Every year in December the Earth passes through some of the bits left behind by this space rock. These bits burn up in our atmosphere to produce the dazzling light displays we see during meteor showers. This year the Geminid meteor shower is due to be active until December 17, but its peak in activity occurs on the night of December 13 into the morning of December 14....

A video of the bear’s sudden appearance was captured by Taylor Hawkins, who was on her way to the national park, when her car stopped to join a line of vehicles, ABC30 reports. The bear was captured abruptly jumping onto the trunk of the car in front of Hawkins’ vehicle, before jumping back down in seconds.
